My little brother got married!

Paul and I were able to escape Atlanta for a few days earlier this summer to celebrate my brothers wedding. It was a great weekend with lots of family and great times. It was so good to catch up with everyone! From the rehearsal diner to the bachelorette party, we all just surround Nathan and Sarah with our love and support for them. The wedding was beautiful! It was outside at a cute little park in downtown Colorado Springs with the reception in cool, old restaurant. Nathan and Sarah did a fabulous job planning. I didn't have to step in for any kind of emergency! They had it all covered. I think my new sister in law may have a future in event planning :) We had a great time and we wish you all the best Nathan and Sarah. We love you and are so proud of both of you.

Cumberland Island for the 4th of July

Over the 4th of July holiday Paul and I got the opportunity to go camping with our friends Rishi and Tulika. Rishi is a classmate of Paul's and we going to be travel buddies with them for 3 weeks as we travel Asia so, we thought it may be good to give traveling together a test run of 3 days :) Least to say, we had a blast and can't wait for our travels to come!

Last year we went to Cumberland Island and fell in love with it and knew we had to go back this year. It is like no other place we have ever been! The island itself looks like something out of Jurassic Park but also has just gorgeous beaches that we practically had to ourselves! After growing up in Colorado, Paul and I grew accustomed to going camping or hiking and never seeing a soul and that is just not the case on the east coast. So, we love this place because only like 40 people can be on this island at a time which makes it SO peaceful! And the wildlife there is always awesome. We saw everything from wild turkeys, horses, armadillos and crab. It was a great little break from city life and I hope to make it a annual tradition for as long as we are in Atlanta.

6 years!

Even with our crazy schedules this year, Paul and I were able to sneak away to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We went down to Florida for a long weekend and had a great time. We just did a lot of laying out on the beach, ate a ton of amazing seafood and spent some well needed quality time with one another. It was a time of celebrating the awesome journey we have had over the past 6 years and dreaming of the things to come in the future!

Trip to Boston

I had a great opportunity to make it out to Boston for a few days! I had been dying to get out there since September to meet my new niece, Livia. It was a great trip but honestly, a little crazy.

The day I flew into Boston, a massive water line broke, contaminating all the drinking water. So a "boil-water" ordinance was issued which just sent a frenzy through the city. Lucky, Amy dashed out and bought lots of bottled water ASAP because even after boiling that water, it did NOT look drinkable. When there are floaties in my water, I don't find it too appetizing!

After the water debacle, Amy and I decided to take the kids to the beach! It sounded like a fun and relaxing time. As we started driving to the coast, it started raining. But we kept driving. By the time we got to the beach, it stopped raining but the beach was wet and it was freezing cold and super windy. Not so relaxing! But, Micah had a great time running around playing in the sand and chasing seguls and Livia did great, so that was really what mattered. After a fun day we loaded up our cold, wet selves and headed back to Boston. That is until our car battery died while driving! Yikes. After sitting at a gas station and making some calls to husbands to see what we should do, we just crossed our fingers and hoped the car would turn back on. It did and we made it home :)

The next day we decided to lay low and just walk around the city. We walked over to Boston Commons to just get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Once we got their, we discovered it was Military Appreciation Week. So they had all these tanks, hummers, helicopters and airplanes parked all over the place for people to see. Micah had a grand old time climbing in and out of each and every piece of equipment, which meant I did too as Amy watched Livia. It was very interesting and so much fun watching Micah have such a blast.

It was a whirlwind of a few days but a great little trip indeed!

Mom and Aunt come to visit Atlanta!

So far, this has been a busy busy year and it shows! We are SO behind blogging. I was looking through our pictures and we didn't event take any pictures until March! We are going to try and catch up in the next couple of days. :)

My Mom, Aunt and new baby cousin Aidan came out to visit us in March. We had a great time! They were our first visitors to the new house. It is so nice to now have an extra bedroom and bath for guests. We have tons of space to spread out! Paul and I defiantly feel spoiled. We love our house! We had a lot of fun showing them around Atlanta.
